New Catalina's T5 system

Hello all ,

Right before heading to working , fed ex drop off my new lighting system

3x54 watts
With moonlights...

All I gotta say is OMG !!!!

This t5 system is one of the brightest things I seen in my whole life!!!!

I put it on my tank n my German rams colors popped instantly !!!!!

I give this 5 stars!!!!!

I just picked up a 3 x 54W 48" a month ago. Fantastic hood with more light than is needed on a 55 Gallon. Service was excellent I must add. The original hood arrived damaged, but Jim at Catalina promptly sent out a replacement the next day before I even had time to package the original damaged hood up for a return shipment. The second hood arrived in excellent condition without issue. Great service combined with a great product = Priceless.

I have a 3x39 for my 65g and I love it. I think it's a near-perfect light for this setup.

It's crazy !!!! Once I turn on all 3 bulbs , my fish started swimming for joy !!!!
They were all very active

There is no question that brighter lighting makes an aquarium look great. There should also be no question that that same brighter lighting causes what would be minor algae problems to be major problems, and avoiding or even being able to handle those problems requires pressurized CO2, adjusted to maintain a concentration of CO2 in the water that is close to the maximum that the fish can live with. If you choose to ignore the need for CO2 you may well become one of those who drop the whole planted tank hobby our of sheer frustration.

Think one of these would work for even light coverage on a 33g long? It has pressurized CO2, about to make a reactor for the co2. My buddy has a par meter and it seems the single t5ho wasn't giving an even enough amount of light. I can suspend the fixture, so it can be up higher if need be

Hm, my 1 bulb T5HO might not actually be enough light, even though it's great for the BBA.
