Aquascape by proxy
So, for some reason I am feeling exceptionally uninspired recently and as such I'm looking for inspiration (by that i mean I'm desperately seeking someone with an idea for a good looking setup) I'm putting a display tank in my living room that needs to look good and I want advice on how to plant it! Here are the basics!
Tank: standard 55g on an oak stand with matching oak canopy (stand and canopy handmade by me!) Substrate: MGOPM capped in black diamond Lighting: T5 fixture with 2 bulbs, both 54w if memory serves. Co2: DIY laziness, 2 gallon jugs with a yeast mixture hooked up to air stones Filtration: 2 eheim filters hooked up in series Available plants: ~10 small/medium amazon swords 1 bunch of java fern (it's a decent sized chunk too) TONS of mixed java and Xmas moss Wisteria ludwigia A. crispus dwarf sag water lily Corkscrew val S. Repens H. Kompact Some other type of hygro I am unsure about 2 large A. Barteri 1 A. Nana petite 2 mid sized Maximo balls Hard scape materials: 1 piece of driftwood (will post pictures) As many river rocks as are needed (the grey sedimentary type often found in areas fed by mountain streams, gray, round, with minor pitting) I will post pictures of everything in the next day or two, but anyone with a feel for aquascaping and an idea they think would look good using all this feel free to give me your insight! |

Hard to give specific feedback without at least knowing what your primary hardscape piece looks like. It'd help to have a picture of your available plants as well to have some idea of the quantity you're working with, how well they're doing etc.
