Urgent! Kh and gh issues

Hello everyone! I'm trying to reduce my gh and kh ratings in my fluval flora. I did a 50% water change in it and my ph and Tds are perfect! M y gh and kh however didn't change? I need to get this water crs safe ASAP. Kh is 5.5 and gh is 9.5 what do I do?

Bingo, those raise the pH and GH...although usually not that high. How new and how much do you have in what volume of water?

Alright we'll assuming the ph and Tds are ideal will the a grade crs breed under those hardness conditions if properly acclimated. Btw it's strange that they didn't change at all from before

i've had the stones for awhile. they were in the same setup before i rescaped. id say theyve been submerged in my possession for about 4 months total. i boiled them before adding them. i didnt have a kh or gh test back then so i couldnt tell you what the water was like.

Are seiryu stones buffers for hardness?

What could be the cause of my buffered hardness then? I added 50% Ro water

I said test the ro water because ive noticed that most (RO) water bought at store says or distilled which freaked me out idk if theres a dif but i want ro water.

I wouldn't want those kinda stones in a crs tank.

ph is a issue with the ro water and its low kh and gh could cause tank to swing to high ph with those kind of stones. idk but lower kh and gh is more susceptible to ph swings

It is impossible to have no gH change if you did a 50% RO water change. Check your test, check your measuring process. You're doing something wrong. Stones cannot increase water hardness quickly, there is a slight hardness increase over time. In days or weeks, not several hours.

If you have a TDS meter. Test the RO water with it, test the aquarium water. Compare, do another 50% change, test again.

I personally am trying to keep my ph at 6 my kh at 2 and gh at 5 this is on the high side of what's recommended but i also run co2 and I think that a kh of 0 is gonna make my ph too low I'm still learning myself about this stuff and I have crs to. My current water is kh 2 and gh 7 ph is 6
