Marsilea minuta
I have a little marsilea minuta and want it to spread out all over my tank. It's just starting to spread out now but it's growing slow. I been dosing co2 booster every day and flourimulti 2 days a week and 6hrs of light and root tabs when needed planted in ecocomplete. My light is a 17w t8 light. What can I do to make it spread out?

Yeah, this plant is tough to find. I suspect, at least in part, that it's because it's such a slow grower and this is a well-known fact.

I grow Marsilea quadrifolia essentially because you can find it in the summer at any nursery that sells pond plants.

i have marsilea minuta. it took mine a long time to take off. i dont use co2. my tank does get lots of light both natural and from my shop light (55 gal). i did notice that once i pulled some of it up and cut it and replanted it it did better. the new nodes took off and spread better and i always change the directions they go never in strate lines so it feels in better. i also use mgo and pool filter sand in my tank. dont know if temp would make a difference but my tank stays between 70 and 75. i know some plants do better in cooler water so dont know about marsilea or not

Marsilea minuta, like HC and glosso, will eventually start growing on top of each other, building up a much too thick ground cover. I grew it in a high light, CO2 tank, and experienced that. It became a nuisance to me over the year or so that it took to do that. But, there is no reason why you couldn't give it a haircut like you have to do with HC, and control its thickness that way. I'm thinking of dry starting a carpet of it for my next low light tank build.

Got a coralife 10k light. Think that's going to help?
