Brightest neo's?

What would you recommend for a species of neo that really stands out in a community of CPD and neons

So far I'm debating between pumpkin orange. Yellow. Bright green or fire red.

If you have had most of these. Which ones actually stand out the most?

Yellows and PFRs but PFRs will be a more solid color.

The neons, once they find out shrimp taste good will take out EVERY single shrimp. The CPDs will take out any baby shrimp they see.

Well I will put the bigger ones in the community tank and have the little guys on their own. I ordered fire red and pumpkin!

Yeah, tetras are opportunistic to say the least. I've even had them nibble plants if I don't feed them enough.

Do you think they would go after the bigger shrimp 2.5-3cm ish?

Yeah, full grown neons get larger than you would expect. They won't eat the carapace if it is still alive, but they will eat the eyes, legs, and other smaller body part and just leave the body on the substrate... needless to say, after that experience I will never have tetras and shrimp.

Thanks for the input... The neons will be shafted to another tank if i see them going after the shrimp!

Also, don't keep the fire reds and the pumpkins together. If they breed they'll make brown.

Do brown count as the pricey chocolate? haha... I'm going to use my 5g planted "breeding" tank for the fires (since they are still tiny) and put the pumpkins with the CPDs/neons.


Also picking up 2x 10 gallons tomorrow in hopes that i can attempt to breed them once the new tanks are cycled . I'm hoping if put 6 ish in each tank.. they will grow a colony

Any tips on breeding neo's?
