Microworms - What can I feed them?

My wife is ramping up to breed some crowntail bettas so we are working on getting fry food sorted out and most of the locals say to use microworms. Is there a better, preferably prepared fry food that works for teeny tiny betta fry, perhaps the Hikari or NLS fry food?

As for the microworms, can I use repashy superfly culture mix for my microworms? This stuff is made for breeding fruitflies and seems similar to the methods I've read about for culturing microworms so I thought I'd best ask before trying it out.

I just use oatmeal

They don't actually eat the medium they live in. They eat the microbes that grow from the medium. Oatmeal becomes putrid after awhile. It's really hard to come close to it. I used masa, corn flour, and the smell isn't too bad.

You'll want to keep the microworms in a mixture of ground oatmeal and water, I keep mine pretty thick, sprinkle some yeast on top and that's it.

after a day or two the worms will start to climb the sides of your container, scrape them off to feed fish and spread some more yeast on top.

Once a month I mix up a new batch of oatmeal and start a new batch, I keep mine in very small disposable type tupperware containers, about the size you would find pudding in. I've had my cultures of Bannana, Micro and Walter worms going for about a year this way.

Mashed potato mix is the best. Not nearly as putrid (as someone mentioned LOL) as oatmeal.

And also as someone mentioned, the worms actually feed off the yeast which are the ones that feed off of the medium (whether it be mashed potatoes or oatmeal).
