Well I'm glad you have listened to the advice of a lot of people in this forum. I would trust the advice of the collective group, but especially Mordalphus.

In the long run, it'll be better to have a devoted tank for these guys. If you do want shrimp, I'll list some that could be shrimp safe (debatable) and some that are definitely shrimp safe (most probably)

Defintely (most likely):
1. Ottos, don't know about the cocamas, but the regular ones are.

Probably (babies could be eaten):
1. Microrasboras, these theoretically could attack adult shrimp but I never had an issue....baby shrimp will be eaten.
2. Least Killiefish, heterandia formosa- Like wicca said, they don't get that big at all......but the parents could eat baby shrimp.....haven't noticed it yet...a recent addition to my tanks to combat nematodes.
3. Pygmy Cories, not gonna eat the adults or juvies but could maybe just eat newborns.....I don't have an issue with them right now.....blue rilis did just fine.

Some say Celestial Pearl Danios are ok, some don't. Ive seen them nip at adult shrimp so I would stay away.

hey thx i was thinking maybe pygme corys too. maybe an ave to travel.
i did keep the 3 otos even though advised against it. everything else is gone. guess ill just have to get crazier plants to make the tank more intresting while the shrimp lay babies
also having my water tested at lfs to see gh kh and tds what else?. ph i think is fine but from co2 but ill find out for sure. and the rest are probly 0 due to plants and cycle

Probably check nitrates as too much could be bad.

Mine don't attack adult shrimp, but they DEFINITELY eat babies.

I'm confused. Here you say they are all alive. Now a day later you have single digits...

Point is the fish are gone, probably lost some due to predation. Lesson learned no need to keep questioning.

Give a guy a break. He probably panic when he is seeing CRS disappeared after it went into a tank with fish. Chances are, some went hiding and others were eaten. There were a few really tiny ones.

This is a 40gal tank, I would have problem spotting CRS too unless there were like in there. Now that the fish are gone, concentrate on the water..

I had 2 amano shrimp with rummynose tetras and a dwarf mexican cray for months with no problems....

I then bought 2 tiger shrimp, and 2 cherry shrimp... the cray ate the cherry's, one of the tigers, and one of the old amano's within an hour of the new ones being put in the tank. That was 3-4 months ago, and the two leftover shrimp are still fine.

Someone said something about celestial pearl danios... I added a school of 7 of them about a month ago, with 3 emerald dwarf danios (apparently very closely related). No problems.

I've never seen fish attack any shrimp in my tank... just my experience, though.

they were going after my crs. the one guy will hate me call me a liar again i guess but i trimmed everything in the tank down recently before the most i could count was 9
now im counting 19 these things are really good at hiding ill tell u what. i sat for hours trying to find them all and was freaking out cause i only saw that many out of the ton i was given.

what i did notice is once the fish were gone the crs were all over my tank they deffinatly knew there was no more predators. safe to come out and play i guess.

now im seeing all kinds of baby cherry shrimp too its freaking awesome

I believe everyone is nicely telling you wasted money on expensive fish food. I'm a nube to shrimp but know at least that much. Put in your due diligence and search threads on CRS care. The first post is a sticky in the shrimp section; read it. Quit while your ahead, this hobby is worse than crack cocaine..

here it is: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=184517
