I've purchased from the same person as Rob. Mine was packed the same way. No heat pack from Texas to Illinois. All the shrimp were live and healthy.

If Taiwan Bees or crs, you may be better doing express than priority.
I believe in 72 hr heat packs so much I provide them free. I lose some money, but better than DOA's! I also ship using 7x7x6 priority. Wrap the heat pack in newspaper, and place behind a false styro wall- cut about 1/2" shorter than the other walls, so heat can get over it.

I got some sss crs and some oebt from him. That guy really knows how too ship stuff. After I unpacked all that newspaper and insulation I had a huge pile wondering how he fit it all in there. The box was also bulging and felt like it weighed 20 pounds. With no heat pack to freezing Illinois and all all are doing awesome.

i have never shipped.. but my discus buddies that i buy from..
will tape the heat pack to top foam piece.. and poke a HOLE thru the foam/box so the pack gets oxygen.. they told me the chemical reaction needs the O2 when i ship..i will probably do same. |

im kinda an odd one here. im just not a fan of breather bags. i have never shipped with them but to me its a pain to get shrimp out of them. with that said i did have propinqua shrimp shipped from germany in one and they were just fine lasting 2 weeks in the mail. i just use regular polly bags, and i use the blown fiber insulations to stuff the box, i do styro line it, and use a heat pack wrapped in newspaper. when i use the small boxes i make sure to fold up some extra newspaper and lay ontop and heat pack goes on that then the top styro. using a regional rate A box is not much more and allows a bit more room for heat pack. but i have used the 7x7 box and shipped crs like that

I thought heat packs were good for a while, but I did one shipment with them seperated from the shrimp by a styro wall and got some cooked shrimp. So now I just make sure I pack it last min, wrap it good and insulate the box well besides the syro on all sides top bottom and ship it. Never a DOA just shipped 16 adult CRS ss-sss to so cal 2 days when it was getting as low as 24 degrees out here and 34 down there, with highs in high 40's low 50's here and low 50's there and not a problem all arrived well and doing good!

here is what i get when i make boxes. you can find it both at lowes or homedepot. and a sharp utility knife is a must or you end up making a mess. i like the break away blade ones. the heat packs some is several times from 20 hour to 72 and you can find them all over the place online

Mickmac247 that is exactly what I got for my 7x7x6 priority boxes. So I am doing good there I am still a little confused on what to put around the shrimp bag-insulation or newspaper or bubble wrap-looking for cheap but good insulator to save shipping money but keep shrimp alive. Also with or without heat pack?? Also what will work good in what temperatures?

i like the green fiber to fill the box and keep the bags from moving. some people dont like it though. i have seen all kinds of stuff used as shipping material. ive seen the pink stuff for an attic, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, shredded news paper, you name it.
