What have I done?
I accidentally spilled half a bottle or more of fluorish excel into my 110G tank (!!!! Don't ask). I immediately did a huge water change, but I'm seeing plant damage everywhere... The first I noticed was on this anubias, but my dwarf lily, crypts, etc are all showing damage :/
So. Damage is done. What's the best way to proceed?

Are you absolutely sure that wasn't there before the Excel? Is there any fish/shrimp in that tank? How are they reacting?
Water changes would be the way to dilute that problem out. |

Thanks. I'm absolutely sure. I did another 50% change today. Hopefully things look better tomorrow.

you will probably have to wait for all new growth. I don't think I have ever seen old leaves recover from any kind of damage in higher vascular plants. recovery always comes in the form of new growth.

well think about it this way..
1/2 bottle excel in tank 50% change = 1/4 bottle of excel in tank 50% change again = 1/8 bottle of excel in tank.... and so on.... the stuff excel is based on is used to sterilize stuff in hospitals :P keep up those water changes! |

1/2 bottle is 125ml, dosing is 5ml per 10 gallons after a water change so that I overdosed by about 400%. Maybe one more water change is warranted.

Supposedly Excel only has about a 12 hour effectiveness in the tank water. So time and water changes should set things straight.
How quick was the plant damage after the accident? How are the inhabitants? |

Accident happened on Monday around maybe 6p. I noticed the damage when I got home at 8p Tuesday, so I'm not sure other than "within a day". As far as I can tell none of my fish or snails are acting any differently.
