Glass Versa-Top blocking light?

So I have a new all glass versa top for my 36g BF. I noticed after a few days of use its got some white-ish residue built up on it from condensation/evaporation occurring in the tank. How much might this affect my lighting? Anything you guys use to treat the glass? I am afraid to use windex or anything for the obvious reasons but this is just going to get worse over time.

When Another member in Colorado and I took a par meter to my 36g bf. we had very little loss between the glass and no glass top. However it getting crusted with stuff will block off some light. Every week during my water change I use a glass safe stiff sponge (petsmart has them) and some hot water and I clean off the top. You should not use any chemical on the lid as whatever you use will drop into the tank with the condensation

Another option is get a razor blade or a scraper with a razor in it. Just wet the glass and run that over the top. It scrapes off all the deposits.

white stuff is from calcium in your water...

wipe it with water during ur cleaning...

vinegar works for getting the calcium deposits off.
