How Large Do Flag Cichlids Grow in Captivity?

There are conflicting reports as to how large this species grows to in captivity. I'm trying to plan a 30G tank and I'd like to know people's experiences.

I ve had 4 of them. I'd say no bigger than 1 1/2". The males I had we're nippy so I got rid of them. The females are fine and are great hair algae eaters.
