I love the driftwood. Very nice for a small tank.

How do you like the ZooMed 501?

Good eye! I had to study the pic to find the SAE... And I took the pic... :P

I have 1 Black Molly, 1 Dwarf Puffer(these guys are going to be transferred out soon), 2 Ottos, 10 Boraras Brigittae and 6 Nannostomus Eques in there. I'll be placing Tiger Shrimps and Cherry Shrimps in once I've gotten the Puffer out and I'll be replacing the Black Molly with a fancy guppy.
In case you're wondering, I use the Black Molly as my natural surface skimmer and the guppy will be taking over his job once he's been moved to a larger tank.

Thank you, Ken. I like it, it's been doing its job so far, but I'm replacing that with an Eheim 2211 at the end of the month(once my pay comes in and if I've not had any unexpected payments to make). The 501 will go to an 8" cube that I'm starting up.

I used a mesh, similar to hairnet and tied them down with that.

Nice setup!!!

I also have an 8 gal system that I started about a month ago. Filtration for small tanks are really difficult to find. I have an AquaClear 20 in mine and it is doing the job, but I was considering the ZooMed 501 but could not find one in the several stores I go to. Maybe I will convert to the 501 later and place the spraybar just about 1 " above the substrate to lessen the surface agitation which causes loss of CO2. Another trick would be to make the bars holes one drill size or two larger which will allow the water to flow out at less force but still the same GPH.

The driftwood I can not comment on, the picture tells all!!!

Thanks to Matthew and aquaphish for the compliments.
aquaphish: The flowrate for the 501 filter isn't really that strong. You could get away with just using an attachment that comes with the filter. It's shaped like a shovel and is meant to be placed on the output to disperse the returning flow.

Messy: If you look slightly over to the right of the Molly, you'll see this black streak, just under one of the moss stones. That's the little guy.
