I need a cheap powerful filter for my 20l
My 20l is cloudy and icky from the Flourite Black Sand and this Penguin 100b is not doing anything except making annoying trickling noises. I don't want to move my AQ70 over there yet because I'm too scared to leave my 10g filterless. Is there anything I can get that is cheap and powerful that will clear the tank up in a jiffy so I can start transferring things? Preferably something that I can get locally or from Amazon Prime. Thanks.

Unfortunately the Aquaclear is now TOO expensive..I paid $31 plus $4 shipping on Amazon back in November and now it's selling for $48 on Amazon and $51 at Petsmart. I really need something under $30 because I will probably not be using it for very long. I'm going to just go to Petco and see whatever they have that I can stick the most amount of filter floss in for the least amount of money

Does it have to be pretty?
There are juice bottle filter tutorials on YouTube that will cost just a few bucks.

What "things"? If this is a brand new tank, it still needs to cycle. Plants don't need clear water, and animals need far more than just the water to be clear. Are you just planting, or planning on putting creatures in here soon?

I'm transferring everything from my 10g to this tank, and using the filter media , substrate and plants from that tank + new plants to cycle it. Right now i'm transferring plants over and it is too cloudy/dusty from the black sand for me to see anything. It's also ugly. The penguin 100b isn't doing anything to clear up the dust or help cycle it, plus it's too noisy to run at night. I need something bigger with moar power that I can fit at least part of an AQ70 sponge and some filter floss in until I transfer the full AQ70 over when it's ready.
I'm sorry, I assumed everyone has read all my other threads because that's how I am, so I didn't explain it in the OP. |
