Fs: Elassoma gilberti 5 of them!
hi everyone,
these are the very last of my elassoma gilberti after i sold to jellie most of my stock. i dont want to sell them but they gotta go for various reasons. i believe i have 3 males and 2 females. it's really hard to tell unless you catch them courting the females but i'm fairly sure this is right. price is $40 for 5. pick up only at little neck ny. no shipping, sorry way too cold.

Those are incredibly cool. What size tank would you need for that size group?

from my understanding, it's fine to be in a 5 gallon. the dominant male always takes over so there will always be 1 guarding his territory while the other male just kinda lingers on the outside. they don't color up and are often confused with females.

if you can find a way to break up line of sight, you can have two males within their one foot radius. i have a ten gallon with three dominant males in it, and thats how i do it. i use lots of thick vegetation to break up the line of sight.

If my tank was only a little bigger. The way it is currently scaped - I don't think that it would work.

I would love to get these, but my tank is already kind of dominated by E. Blue Rams. I don't want them getting bullied.

If only I wasn't in college/still had money lol
what temps do they prefer? would they work in a 5.5 or would a 10 be the minimum? and how are they with shrimp? and nano fish? and what size do they get?
