DIY Filter hose cleaner?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to clean the filter hose or has a DIY hose cleaner?

I use a gun cleaning kit on my hoses. Just cut up some small pieces of rag, swab 'em and rinse. And no, I dont clean my guns with the same kit. Lol

I take some pieces of cloth, attach a some string to one corner, and attach a nut to the other end of the string. Ensure the piece of string is tightly fastened to the cloth and is longer than the tubing you want to clean.

Drop the nut through the tubing and pull. Nice and easy.

I use a plumbers snake with a scrubby or brush on the end, and I also put a pair of females stockings over my first media basket so no debris/gunk goes back in my tank.

I have also heard of some people using a vacum or air line they put a rag or something in and suck or blow the rag through.
