Just black sand for substrate. I lost interest for awhile and my tanks have gone to hell. I have renewed interest so I am in the process of cleaning things up and getting the tanks back in shape. I took down the tiger tank, moved everything from there to a 20L with just sand substrate instead of Akadama so that I can have water the same as my 75g tank...I was getting no breeding from my neos in the Akadama tank so I thought I'd try different water parameters.

I'm moving the yellows to the Akadama tank once I get it emptied out...again, using sand. Hopefully moving them to a smaller tank will help with some breeding. Once that's done, I'll probably start moving shrimp from this tank. I'll pull out the nicer cherries and move them to the PFR tank, pull out some nicer chocolates and try to get a quality line going in another tank, the rest, probably throw them in the 40B and just make it a smaller melting pot tank. After that, I might get some bichirs again for the 75g tank...I miss having bichirs...they are my favorite fish for sure.

Thanks. Getting ready to tear the tank down. Moving inhabitant to a 40B and re-doing the 75g to house some bichirs. The new 40B Melting pot tank will probably not be hardscaped. I'll throw in some lava rock but otherwise it will be sand, moss, and Subwassertang. I might throw in a Java fern in the corner, but I want my shrimp tanks to go from scaped to simple. That way it will help prevent me from getting lazy, or rather I can be lazy because the maintenance will be less and the shrimp won't suffer like they did recently.

Other than catching the random shrimp out of the 75g...I think I am done with the transfer. There's easily 150-200 in my 40B now. Whatever is left will have to learn to live with or be eaten by the bichirs that will be moving into the 75g in the coming weeks

40B melting pot is dead. Moved all shrimp to a 20L. Should make care easier and pulling out nicer chocolates easier so I can try and get a decent chocolate colony started.

Pretty much. Everything moved to 20L tank which have also gone to crap. Doing some consoladation now, thinking about going with a single tank and calling it good. Can't stay motivated to keep these tank up. I might even do a very small desktop nano setup and get rid of everything else. Who knows. Plans change with me day to day it seems.
