45 gallon planted stocking

Ive had alot of experience with big fish but this is my first attempt at a planted tank with small fish. What Im wondering is how many small fish should I have in the tank? Im talking things like neon tetras, zebra danio's, guppy's, maybe some molly's, things like that. Id also like to have a few dwarf gourami's and 1 or 2 anglefish.

Ill be running a Fluval 306 (6X turnover per hour) and the tank will have pressurized co2 also.

Thanks
Nick

I'd do a school of toughies for starters. Black neon, glowlight, and gold tetras are all very hardy, plus being pretty and schooling well. I'd only do one school of about 20 fish, and after they've settled into the tank and are comfortable, I'd add the cool fish: dwarf cichlids (Apistogramma/Mikrogeophagus), dwarf gouramis (honey, blue neon, sparkling), angelfish, oddballs, whatever catches your eye as cool and unique. For algae eaters, Amano shrimp and otos should perform fine, although the shrimp might get eaten by angels or dwarf cichlids. There are varied reports on this, but I'v not experienced it, having kept Amano shrimp with apistos, kribs, and discus.
