What is your favorite aquatic plant genus or family? What makes them your favorite? Of course, I'll start
My favorite plant family is the nymphaea family, because all members put on a spectacular show in an aquarium! The family includes these aquarium plants: Nuphar Japonicum, Cabomba sp., Barclaya Longifolia, and of course the nymphaeas(Stellata, rubra, zenkeri, micrantha).
Al members of this family have a wonderful array of colors, from green to brown! Some have wavy arrow leaves and some have discy leaves
All will form lily pads, except barclaya. Another thing is that they are known to flower readily in the home aquarium(with the right nutrients and light), except nuphar. Barclaya will even flower underwater if it can't reach the surface! LOL! All flowers are quite a show, except cabomba...
That's why these are my faves
