Growing Mangroves in a shrimp

I have a spare 10 gallon tank and I was thinking of buying a few (maybe three? if I can find that few sold) mangroves and setting up a tank possibly putting either CRS or Cardinal shrimp in there depending on the PH and general water requirements which I do not know of at this point. I have done some research and apparently Red Mangroves can grow in freshwater systems. I would like to know if anyone has ever grown them before and any tips on doing this like a certain substrate or dirt or something like that. Thanks.
