Hairy Leaves and dark green spots

Hi Everyone!
I set up a 30 gallon cube about a month and a half ago. I used floright substrate along with fert tabs. I have led lights that came with the set up. I bought it at petsmart so I really dont know much about the lights. I run my lights for around 8 hrs. The cube is in a room that receives mod to bright sun light but no direct light. I have threadfin rainbows and some glow light tetra in there. I do 20% water changes every week. Last week I noticed on the edges of a cpl of my plants what looks like hair. Also I wave a peice of wood in the tank and a plant tied to the top of the wood and on that plant I see hard green spots on it.. Im pretty sure this is something I dont want but not sure what Im doing wrong?
Thanks for any input.
