And where can I find these reducers? I was just on aquariumplants.com where I plan on buying the solenoid and they don't appear to stock them.

NPT stands for National Pipe Thread, which is the standard in the US and Canada, I believe.

You will need two reducers, from 1/8 to 1/4", as you mentioned. You will have to figure out if you need a male/female nipple (but from what I can see, you will probably need a 1/4" male NPT to fit into the regulator, that goes to a 1/8" male so that it can go into a solenoid).

You can find these at your local hardware store in the plumbing section.

I was just going back in the vault and found this thread. I don't know if it's atypical for a regulator and plastic check valve to hold up for 15 years, but I can't say how pleased I am that they have.

I (and may of us) take this site for granted, but where would we be without it? Seriously, I wonder how the hobby has advanced in the past two decades because of the internet. My tank would be a mess of algae....end of reminiscence.

A regulator holding up for 15 years is not unheard of.

A plastic check valve? Under constant use? Now that would be unusual.

This site is quite good, isn't it
