Bingo. This is why importers here are so under rated. People don't understand WHY the charges tacked on to make shrimp so much more when imported.

Not sure how many pet stores have exporter licenses either.

Man. I guess I just can't... but I'm still inspired
of how somebody on this forum brought taiwan bees
to California from Taipei in a water bottle. :3

You shouldn't be inspired by illegal activities

Actually, you might wanna think twice about this too. Are you doing check-in or carry-on? I once brought back some dog treats from Japan (carry-on) and they were confiscated coming back, into Los Angeles. It was sealed and unopened too. I just happened to mention it, not thinking it was a big deal, but they take it seriously and took it
If you do plan on it, it should be unopened and sealed tight in a bag or something so the dogs don't sniff it out!

I've had no problems bringing back prepared shrimp food from Japan. Being up front about it as well. One time I brought back 300 bags of Shirakura food in my suitcase because it was cheaper than having it shipped to me. Just had to pay duty on it.

Dog treats are another thing, you can't bring anything with meat or made using animal parts.
