OK the Cardinal Tetras I have left have ICK how can I kill it and not kill my snails and filters. this is in my 5 gallon QT tank/sons tank.


I added 8 new one for a total of 11 and one week later only 2 cardinal remain.

I am so done with Cardinal they are off the stocking list and neons are back on.

Use rid ich, its the easiest most effective way, the salt method was too hard on my fish. Rid Ich will start working asap, it saved my fish.

raise temp in tank to over 86 degree's and maintain for a week . should do the trick. adding so many fish to a small water column may have contributed to the ich. ICH is present in all tanks at all times even those with uv sterilizers . Stress and swings in water param will bring it out though

I dosed with QuICK Cure and the fish seem to have improved one more day and I'm hopen it works.

i do heat and salt, but not sure how snails will handle the salt

Well they look better one has a spot still there I’m going to see if it goes away by tomorrow night if not I’ll do a water change and three more day of dosing.

you should be doing large water changes daily and adding a table spoon/5gal's with increased temperature. that'll take care of things real fast for you
