Do your shrimp only come out at night?

My shrimp (Fire reds/CRS) only come out at night, except
for my berried Fire reds, they come out during the day a lot.
Is there even a way to get them out more often, or is it
not unusual?

mine are out all day... the minute they see me the come to the 'feeding spot'

do you have fish with them?

All mine are out, of course I only have moss in their tanks.

Ya, my half-bare bottom tank gives them even less places to hide, so I see them all the time for my CRS.

For my painted reds, there is a piece of driftwood with a HUGE moss pile that needs to be trimmed tied to it, so I don't see them as much. The moss is so intertwined with babies though, it's going to be fun trimming it down. lol.

"Shy" behavior is fairly common when shrimp feel threatened by the presence of fish. If they have tankmates, maybe that's it?

They also haven't been in your tank very long right? It can take them a bit to adjust and feel safe enough to come out.

my shrimp are out all the time, they only ones that hide are the berried ones, i never see them in the day but at night they come out

I've only had shrimp hide when they felt threatened. Mine are out all of the time.

They do not have any tankmates, and yes,
they are fairly new to the tank. That might
be the reason why. :/

While I was looking for my CRS, I saw my
first Fire red baby!!! I don't know if it is
CRS or Fire red, but it has a red dot on its
head! (CRS are born white/red right?)
The lights are off and all of the shrimp are out...
