i would definitely have to research species and their requirements and availability, but i'm thinking i would lean towards the ivories. keep in mind though, it took me 6 months of researching before i decided to pull the trigger on dart frogs. i like to be very prepared before i do something. the animals health and welfare is first and foremost in my eyes

That's mighty admirable of you! I'm still super paranoid about screwing anything up even thought my pedes all seem to be eating well.
I'm thinking they need deeper substrate. They've only got about 4 inches right now, and I suspect going deeper might encourage breeding. I'll probably pick up a brick of coir and prepare some more leaves. Do you guys think freezing leaves for a day or two will sterilize them well enough? I'm kind of worried that boiling them might leech out some of the nutrients. |
