HANdS 5G Planted Betta Tank

Took some new pictures on a whim today:

The Bacopa in this tank was starting to melt away completely. I think it might be due to lack of light. I had some root tabs in there, but the light is positioned so that it really only shines down on the front half of the tank. I took them all out and positioned the rocks towards the back, then floated the remaining bacopa stems in my 29G. I'll see about planting them there this weekend.

Alpha built his first bubble-nest last weekend. I was a little sad to have to disrupt it when doing his water change, but I guess that means he's happy

Thanks! So far not that I've noticed. There are two large nerites (quarter-sized) and two adult ghost shrimp in there, but they have a pretty decent sized growth of java moss to hide in.

So, in the past week I've seen him flared up and ramming himself into the lighter-colored Nerite repeatedly, haha. It's funny to watch. The snail doesn't appear to be any worse for the wear.

They're called power squids, the one in that stand is made by Power Sentry.

Quick tank update. Mémère bought my daughter a pirate ship and a Dora the Explorer pirate to put in Alpha's tank for christmas...

We'll be setting those up later today, and I'll post some pictures tonight.

Alpha got a new tank mate today. We'll see how they do together, their first encounter was a little aggressive with Alpha getting ahold of his foot...

Alpha got a tank upgrade last night! He's on his way to high-tech land. I picked up a used ADA-30C, got it scaped & planted last night, but no pictures yet. I'll take some today
