Went to Pacific for the first time today. Can't believe I've never been before; that place is great. They have sterbai cories 3 for $12, cardinals 3 for $4, green neons for $2 (I forget the group price), and marbled hatchets for 3 for around $10 (don't remember what exactly it was). Got some great service too. I went to the city via public transport from NJ so the guy put all the fish in a styrofoam box for free.

Went to city hall petland for the first time and wow was I disappointed. Not many out of the ordinary fish besides flagfish, which I've never seen before in stores, and "curviceps". About half the tanks were ick infested. Fish guy there seemed pretty knowledgeable, surprised that the tanks were in such bad condition with a guy like him there.
They do have a decent assortment of plants though, compared to other petlands and chains that is. Large ass amazon swords and anubias afezelii, cyperus helferi, guppy grass and what not. On a side note, what place is good for dwarf cichlids and cheap cories of any species (under $3)? |

So i am going to NYC tomorrow.
I am only familiar of Pacific. I have seen a bunch of names thrown out throughout this thread... but can someone sum up all the LFS in Chinatown (WALKING DISTANCE) from canal street to Pacific that at note worthy to visit. I will be around Elizabeth center and can make my way to Pacific. Anybody know when they get fresh shipment? |

"Cheap" & "dwarf cichlids " aren't usually found in the same sentence, but Frank has wild caught rams for $5 each 3 for $12, & I've seen Laetacara dorsigera being sold as L. curviceps at most Petland locations for $4.44 ea. |

I was talking about cories, I pretty much know most dwarf cichlids run for $6+ lol. I would love to get Frank's rams but it would be quite a trip.

Ember Tetras are 3/$5 at Pacific
Rasbora Epsei (mislabeled as Harlequins) are also 3/$5

Most Petland Discounts will carry german blue rams or can at least order them for you. The one down in FiDi has them right now, was just there today.
