What matheson regulators are the ones to use

I have been looking at the matheson ones but I do not know what ones are dual stage and decent. I bought a single stage regulator last month but am selling it once I buy a dual stage

Stainless steel double stage,
9400 series, super rare.
3800 series, appear from time to time.
3870 series, miniature, rare
3??? Seris, old, similar to Parker Hannifin DSG 750 series, can't pull out the model number right now.

Brass double stage,
Model 8, really old, Harris standard 1/2-27 stem to body connection threads, no recommend
3120 series, same as 3800 but in brass
3104 series, heavy duty, really big and heavy.
And there are some other models available.

There is a matheson reg in S/S section right now, advertised as double stage but actually is a matheson B15 heavy duty single stage reg.
Matheson is under Harris group, some other Harris regulators are OK, work well for our system.

I am looking for a decent dual stage for around 100 or less. I have all the post body and everything setup and as I did my home work I am getting rid of the micro matic single stage I got because I do not want any end of tank rushes.

With a $100 budget, you can do a lot better than a model 8.

Look for a concoa 212 or 312 series or an airproducts/airgas that starts with E12 and ends with a B or a C. Also try searching for a victor vts-250b/c. There was even a new victor hpt-500 available in your price range the last time I checked. If you are patient, you'll even see stainless parkers in your price range.

Agreed. There are a huge number of dual stage regs, some new, that you can buy with $100. I don't know why you're looking for only a Matheson ...many models are quite nice, but they're only a fraction of what's available to you at a similar price and quality.

Concoa 212's and Victor VTS250's are my regs of choice. I also recently fell in love with GO regs, and I've taken a liking to Betta's Parker IR6000's.

Where do you guys see a Matheson 3810 series for 100? I would pick it up right away, 100 without a post body kit sound good.

There was one under a 100, the seller didn't ship to Canada. Long story short, Oldpunk has a 212 for sale for 235. Go ask him.

My search continues...

Guys, aim for the japanese regs, I am still working on getting more info.
-swagelok and pacific scientific gauges are re-branded Nogano keiki, and in industrial world, japanese manufactures have good reputation producing high grade SS equipment.
I've been wondering for a while, are those top of the line SS regs from major brands, made in japan?

Have a japanese Chiyoda seiko, and a German Messer(not the re-branded Victor HPT270) double stage regulator, not yet build them but look really nice.

Yeah, it's tough for people to understand sometimes, but many, and sometimes most, of the suggested models, are rebranded. Concoa and Praxair joined forces some years back, for example. And Airgas doesn't actually make any of their own regs.

Yes, what I'm saying is that both of the links oldpunk mentioned are Concoa 212's, regardless of the name on the front of the knob.
