Fluval Pressurized CO2 Kit

I am thinking of getting 1 for a 10G tank. Has anybody used the Fluval Pressurized CO2 Kit?

They have 1 with a 20gram cylinder and 88gram cylinder. I am wonder how long the cylinders last?

I had the 20gram one...it didn't work well for me at all. It was very inconsistent. My advise would be to take the money that you'd spend on the 88gram one and invest a little more to commission a member here to make one for you. You can get a nice paintball setup with a good regulator for under 200$ from a member here. It'll be more economical than having to replace the fluval canisters very often. Additionally I think you can rest assured that the systems that our co2 "specialists" on this forum will hook you with a high quality, reliable co2 system that you can dial in and leave for a couple months until you need to go get another 5$ co2 refil.

My Fluval 88 lasted about a week on a 12g long. ~$13 a week per cartridge adds up... It's the old trade off: pay all now or spread it over time and pay a lot more in the end.

who makes them that you trust?

There are only a select fewbthat build CO2 regulators on here. The ones I can think of off the top of my mind are bettatail and oldpunk.

I think I will just make a terrarium for my plants that need Co2 in a 10G. For I will be out of town for awhile and not able to dose Excel. Just have 2 plants that won't survive with daily dosing of Excel in tank.

Don't waste your time with the fluval co2. Mine never worked again after changing the first cartridge. It would no longer pierce the new one open. Fluval Customer support was the worst ever. Just my experience with the fluval 88
