Yes, it is the no VOC paint. I had an exhaust fan in the window. It is a huge difference in the daytime. I actually think the fish feel more secure with the black background. They are front and center.

Do not use paint !! There is better way to do this and when ever you want to take the paint off it will take you forever to scrape that crap off and what a mess it's gonna make.
If you want smokey cloudy white you can use this ![]() If you want it black then you can use this ![]() I use both of them for my tanks you will get a processional look ,paint will look ghetto ! this is artscape this is black limo tint![]() Easy to take off when ever you don't want it anymore |

Well, in for an update. Peeled..yes peeled like a tangerine off the black background. The paint I used form a FANTASTIC plastic type film on the glass. Loved the finish..just moved to Discus and they started to pepper. I bought 8 of Tony Tan's Discus - 5 Scarlets and 3 Diamond Turqs. Beautiful fish..schooled the second full day home. Noticed they started to pepper with the black background. I HATED the idea of scrapping the back but it just peeled off so sheet-like I giggled. It wore like iron so I was very surprised but pleased.
Found a great Glidden color called "Sweet Baby Boy" soft blue which in almost the same as my Sherwin Williams wall color. This is perfect. The Discus love it. The Turqs were almost so dark I couldn't see them against the back wall. Once I painted it the light blue they sparkled like sapphires. Will post the pics as soon as dinner is finished.

Moved a good bit of the plants as they were growing like weeds to some of my other tanks to give the Discus elbow room. Also removed the large driftwood as I wanted to be able to clean the tank efficiently. It KILLED me as I love the overplanted look.
Before with the black: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This last photo is of another Angel tank I have - when I moved them from the Discus 150 to here they spawned for the first time. As you can see by the canister return I was not expecting this! LOL! Good excuse to get them their own breeder tank.
