Fantastic job, Grogan. I know I said I didn't like the driftwood in the beginning but I really like what you've done with it.

Beautiful tank! I like the driftwood, I like the bold strong lines created by the straight limbs.
I get so sick to my stomach every time I see posts by you lucky folks in Alaska. It looks like Heaven to me! If I were younger & knew I could get a job, I'd move in a second. I should have moved there back in the day when I was much younger! I'm lucky to be in Virginia's Appalachian Mountains, but I would love to be where you are! Someday I'm going to take a month off from work & just go for an extended vacation...

A long overdue update:
Okay so this tank is still kicking and growing rapidly. I added a Kessel LED light and started using ADA fertilizers. Together they provide excellent growth. The carpet is still struggling to take off but the glosso is far from dying. I also added a inline heater to cut down on in tank equipement. I also found a neat little lily pipe magnet scraper. It makes cleaning the tubes and glass a breeze. Here are some quick phone pictures. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Im curious about the Kessil light. Is that their arm/holder/clamp or did you get it somewhere else? How long has it been on this tank? Your tank look great. Id really like to try these lights but im really looking for some good confirmation that they will do everything a T5-HO will do.

Update:
I just did my weekly water change and trimmed the glosso down. I am waiting to trim the stems and moss till this weekend. Ill be saving the stems and donating them to the local shop so they can put together some cheap grab bags. I also added an ADA cabochon ruby check valve to my CO2 system. My regulator already has built in NASA grade check valves but when I saw how clean these things look, I just had to have one. With a $410 regulator, might as well have double water protection. ![]()
