Harris 9296 CO2 regulator opinion

Hey guys I have a chance to get a Harris 9296 model 2 stage regulator on the cheap. I was wondering what every ones opinions are on this particular regulator??

I'll be building the whole thing myself. So I was just wondering if this reg is worth it if i can get it for under 40???

Sure, if it's in good shape.

Not the prettiest reg out there and has Neoprene diaphragms but it should work well. What psi does the low pressure gauge go to? Don't get it if it goes over 200.

From what I can tell it says max delivery pressure of 50 psi max and 3000 psi max inlet pressure. I'm not worried about looks as much as I'm worried about cost. I'm just sick and tired of diy co2. It adds up quickly on a 55 gal tank.

I really like some of the mini dual stage regulators but I can't afford a $200 regulator at the moment.

Thanks for taking a look.

This should be fine for our uses.

It is one of the best from Harris, for inert gas, heavy duty and really good quality, better than Victor VTS series, imo.
The current model of similar reg from Harris is the 702 series.

Had 5 of 9296 long time ago, two of them were 9296SS, all good quality.

Thanks for the advice guys but it doesn't look like I'm going to get this one for a price that I'm going to be happy with.

If ya'll want I'll post the auction number so that ya'll can have a go at it.

Thanks guys for all the opinions and advice

Hey again guys!!! I just got my Harris 9296 reg in the mail and it looks amazing and is heavier then I ever expected it to be. Just thought I'd show you all some pictures

So just a couple questions? Is there anything I should look for on a used reg like this?? And from the looks of it all the damage is cosmetic(just a few scratches on the bottom)

any suggestions as to where to go with this?? and what parts to use??

You should check to ensure that the regulator is in full operational condition.

Bettatail wrote an excellent article here:

For the parts that you require: you will first need to remove the hose barb attachment and put on a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter (most likely male to female, in your case). From there, you can attach your desired components (solenoid, needle valve, bubble counter, etc). Of course, at the very least, you will need a needle valve.

Hope this helps,
