low cost cube around 4g for shrimp only
Im looking at purchasing a low cost cube. Im wondering if anybody has any ideas of a low cost solution. Yes an ADA or EcoPico would be cool but im looking around the $20.00 range.
If I cant find any in that range i will prob build one. I can do this for like $10.00 but something this small gets pretty difficult to silicone. Thanks |

Deep Blue makes some nice smaller tanks. They are fairly inexpensive, depending on where you go. I think I have the B40 or B4 or something like that. it's a rimless tank.
I just ran the calculations for building a four gallon tank, and this looks like it is 4 gallons. It doesn't look big enough for four gallons, but apparently it is. It should be less than $30. They also make a small filter that works decent of you throttle it way down. It's a bit loud for my preferences, but it's in my bedroom and I thing the dresser amplifies the sound. Why not go with acrylic if you are building it yourself? 9.75" per side. |

something that size would require a minimum of 1/4 acrylic and that starts to add up.
Acrylic is normally much more expensive than glass. At least around here. I built a 12" cube nano reef for $20.00 using glass from a local shop Ill take a look at Deep blue. Thanks for the tip |

Well what the heck. Ran to Walmart and found a tetra 3 gal led cube kit for $29. The price was good. Not sure about the led that came with it but I will toss the cover stand and filter. The cube is perfect.

Thank you for the info, I was looking into the same for a little tank in the kitchen. I have a cool piece of wood that work work perfectly in a small cube.
