Plan is on top of the mesh to have 1" glass.SS net will be in like glass frame.
Dividers will be siliconed to the walls. Tank size 46x18x14 with 1/4" thick glass. Only bottom piece will be 3/8".
Babies aren’t problem .I’ll catch them and will move them around when they grow enough.

I just recently divided a 40B into two cubes. I personally would not want anything smaller than the 20g cubes and think it is just about perfect size. I got a piece of glass cut and polished. The bottom corners were rounder slightly so they didnt hit the existing silicon filet at the botton seam. I had the glass cut a 16th" short so there is a 1/32" space between the panes of glass and the divider so I can put a silicon fillet between it. here is a pic.

Speaking as someone who has a 30 gallon divided tank, babies are a problem. They are a very annoying problem because they can get under and around all sorts of nets somehow.

Mine get from one side to the other all the time. It's a pain but I love my tank so I spend the time and catch them.

I think that I'm done with UGF. Malaya and Africana last 1 year the most-except if you have 30B or 40B with long UGF. I'll use Eheim 2217 full with Bio media and 2 Jagno prefilters .They will have filter floss and purigen reactor. Nobody know how long new Amazonia will last but I don't like to replace substrate every year.

Please let us all know how those divided tanks work out. Mine climb up silicone fillets and beads just as easily as they climb up stainless.

I made it out of 2x4s and deck bracing
