Frederick?

I just moved, and most everything in my tank survived alright, but I need a place to get supplies. Are there any decent fish stores in Frederick and the area north of Frederick? I looked around Superpetz on 40 today, and they had a small selection, dirty tanks, and dead fish. Disgusting.

On 40 Ricks in the same plaza as the Joannes Fabric, also a Burger King.

You could head over to Aquarium depot in Randallstown

Thanks. I'll check out Ricks. I don't want to drive all the way to Randallstown, but Aquarium Depot is pretty nice, so maybe it's worth it.

ricks is okay...but haggle with them..the prices are a little high on decent stuff

Yeah, some of their prices are high. For example, a 20lb bag of eco-complete costs $39 there... when you can buy it online and ship it to you for less, or in my case drive up to That Fish Place in lancaster and pick it up for $21...

The staff at ricks is friendly and most know at least some things about the fish/supplies... but their pricing is lack luster and always a bit on the high side...

I don't live in Frederick anymore but loved Rick's when I lived there...... The prices might be a little high but I don't mind paying a little extra I liked Rick and I am always a fan of supporting the independents even if it costs me more.

Ive been doing some research and ricks seems to be a good place to start
I'll be heading out that way from Kansas to Frederick around march not sure how I'm going to move all my fish yet but I'm going to give it a shot.

I'm thinking anywhere in MD is better for the hobby than Kansas

I lived in Frederick for years and Rick's was my favorite fish store. However, now that I am getting back into the hobby I am looking forward to going back to Aquatic Creations just outside of Urbana.
