What kind of shrimp? A co-worker of mine was telling me he use to breed Bettas. I've never tried dwarf gouramis.

Just chocolate neos and I'm trying out Malawa shrimp right now. Nothing special. the wild bettas were really easy, the dwarf gouramis a little more difficult.

I feed them cucumbers and algae wafers. I'm thinking that feeding them well helps do the trick. I'm hoping to be lucky again. Constantly changing the water is a good trigger I guess. I've read that was a good trigger for cories.

They're pretty cool little shrimp. I like that they like to swim around unlike most other shrimp I've had. I'm hoping they start breeding soon because a little extra $ flow would be great. haha

My ultimate goal is to get Otos to breed, but those suckers are a flippin mystery to me still. So right now I have just a high stock tetra/rasbora tank with no goal of breeding right now.

Why? They are so cheap. Rasbora tetra are very cheap too. Sometime $1 at pet smart.

That is true otos are cheap. I remember the first time I kept otos. For some reason I had no luck with keeping them alive. Then awhile back when one of the big name stores had them for a dollar I bought 10 of them and now I've kept them pretty good.

I like my shrimp because they breed easily and would be nice if my BN plecos breed again. Also I hope when my long fin BNs get bigger I can get them to bred.

But they are still rather mysterious as to how they breed. There are a few reports of people getting them to breed in captivity, and it sounds like a challenge I want to get in to in order to help the hobby understand more.

As for the OP's OT, I have had my Guppies breed well, numerous times now.
Have a few berried ghost shrimps here and there, but no drops yet, fingers crossed on that happening sometime soon though.

Just picked up some new tanks, hoping to get a nice little breeding setup going for smaller schooling fish.

Assorted Angles (back in the late 70's... using the "egg yolk in a nylon foot" trick) I do NOT miss those original HOB filters !!

Assorted Guppies
Albino Cory Cats
Assorted Platies (Wiki spells the plural form with: ies)
Yellow-Tail Damsels
Bangi Cardinals
Percula clownfish
Assorted corals & invertebrates
S+ CRS (shrimp & plants are my newest aquarium focus)
Hopefully some aquarium plants in my newly setup plant tank?
