a long weekend's worth of duckweed

This stuff is insane, left alone for a 4 day weekend (no Co2, lights on a timer) and it goes from this:

to this:

Time to start scooping!

Started as a few hitchhikers on the water lettuce

I hate it and love it at the same time, but such is the nature of Duckweed...

Be careful of how you dispose of it since it is labeled as an invasive species in some States.

Ahh duckweed... I can think of many things to call it, and surprisingly one of them is useful, but i can take over if left unchecked. Crazy plant in my opinion, lives when you dont want it to, doesnt when you do

GAAD! Duckweed and azolla are very prolific. I place goldfishes for a while and after one to two days. It's gone. They eat it like salad. )

If you live in tropical countries like me We just grab it in rice fields, ponds and other gentle bodies of water.

wicca27: Azolla is all over the place in your area.

Azolla caroliniana is even plentiful in Louisville.
