Any NYC stores carry Mr. Aqua rimless tanks?

Do any of you know if any of the NYC/NJ area stores carry rimless Mr. Aqua 11.4 gallons or the 13.3 bowfront. A friend of mine said he had a rimless I could use - but when I picked it up today - it has a rim on the bottom and black silicone in the corners. Not really the look I was looking for.

If not, I will just order from MarineDepot and wait the week for shipping...

For the cost of the toll and gas to NJ, you might as well pay the $8 shipping on Marine Depot unless FEDex or UPS has a bad track record. I don't see people discounting this where you would save anyway.

Thanks nvladik.

Mach - yes, that is very true. The shipping isn't bad at all ($7.99 + 8 oversize fee) - but I like to support local businesses when I can, so I just wanted to check.

I bought the 17 gallon and the 12L, both required an additional 20 fee for the bulk. This was through marine depot.

Order it from petstore.com...it is actually a tad cheaper here (than marinedepot).

And no, I have never seen Mr. Aqua in any stores outside of Taiwan. LOL.

I might have to go back to Brooklyn and check out Reef Aquarium...

they have nano tanks that are packaged the same way as the Mr. Aqua tanks...the white boxes with the blue wordings.

same price for the 17, no difference.

Yeah - it is the same for the 11.4 on both - although shipping is a little less for the 11.4 than the larger sizes.

Maybe I am being too hard on the tank that I have - what does everyone think? I was initially not a fan of the black silicone in the corners. But the more I look at it, the more I am OK with it. Sorry for the crappy pic; it is just on a black trashcan for the picture, the stand I am going to use is not in yet.

This is my first tank, and I will likely upgrade to bigger and nicer tanks in the future - just wanted something small to get my hands wet Maybe save the extra money and put it towards the next tank, or maybe CO2 for this one if I go that way at some point.

I personally think the black silicone is just fine. Much more subtle than the usual external plastic trim.

It's pretty!

And would a store be willing to special order the tank for you? Esp if they already carry Mr.Aqua tanks (Rt4 Aq).

And I will just say that small tanks are a heck of a lot harder to keep healthy and stable than a larger tank. Or in the other extreme, you could always buy a glass vase to experiment in.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I am going to give this tank a shot.

I might play around with some aquascaping today and ask for opinions. I am going for a root buttress look with a couple of pieces of ghostwood/manzanita. I am still waiting on my Aquasoil - but might use some plain black gravel first just to get an idea for placement.
