Cycled filter media to seed a tank

Hey gang I am new here and working on cycling 2 tanks (26 gal bowfront and a 40 gal). I've been trying to get the cycle going in both for 3 weeks with no luck. So now I am looking for some media from an established tank that I can use to seed both of the tanks to get things moving. I asked at my Lfs but was turned away. Any of you semi close to Williamstown that can part with some to help me out?

If you do a search online you might be able to find a company that sells cycled sponge filters.

If you can't find them were unable to get used medium try API Quick Start or Sachem Stability. The instructions are on the back of the bottles. I use the API Quick Start and to hardy fish I don't have the patience to do a fish the cycle.

All you need is the mulm from a dirty filter to seed your tank. Just let your own filter pick it up out of the water column.

Nobody near you? Not a member of a club?

My filters were all cleaned during the Sandy blackout and I suspect all of my tanks are now cycling all over again. Otherwise, I'd offer you some mulm.

Not sure where that is but i am in 08902 . I cleaned out one filter today but u are welcome to collect from one of the others. Or if you have sponge filters i can trade you for a cycled one as i keep them running for emergency tank set up needs.
