Petsmart has all Platys and Mollys for a dollar (with free Petsmart card). The one in NoHo has large, gorgeous black skirt tetras.
There's also a clearance bin in the fish aisle. Saw some Prime ($7 for 250ml) and Amaquel in there, in addition to various flake foods.

Was at Win today....and I've always wanted to ask: Why do all their tanks seem to be growing hygrophila (looks like corymbosa to me) stems? And some of their tanks have tons of it! Looking very green and healthy. But for some reason NONE of it is ever on sale.

You have to butter him up and maybe he'll let have some. I can't say from personal experience, just tales told by others. The tanks with hygro are very nice though.

He told me that he doesn't order any plants. All you see are donations or trades from local hobbyists. That's why you see uncommon plants sometimes. It's hygrophila polysperma.

There are literally s*h*i*t loads of this growing in their tanks....the old man treats it like he's gonna go smoke it (LMAO) and whenever I ask if it's for sale, he instantly replies "no sale!".
Vic, he's got some polysperma as well but the majority is the pure green hygro corymbosa. |

Petco Union Square has Harlequins on sale for $1.49 ea, & true Trigonostigma hengeli for $2.49 ea. The sign said lamb chop rasboras, but the worker told me that they were pork chop rasboras. The hengeli aren't as nice as T. heteromorpha or espei, but they're not without their own charm. Petco also has 10 gallon kits with LED lighting on sale for $39.95.

123 had hillstreams for $8 each if you're looking for em, kinda expensive compared to pacific. In fact pretty much everything in 123 is expensive....$8 glofish wtf
Win had some rasbora of some kind, I know you guys are into those micro fish. Also had glowlight tetras, haven't seen those around. Picked up a GBR that looked more like a GBR EBR cross, interesting to see how that guy colors up. |
