White Film

Hey guys. I have developed a thin white film on the surface of my water. I have read that this could be protein, but those threads were from salt water forums. Could this be a protein over abundance in a freshwater tank? If so how do you get rid of it? Also, could this film hurt my tank?

If you have surface water movement it should go away.

Search surface scum, this comes up at least once a week when there are answers/solutions out there.

I use to have that white film on all my tanks but not anymore !!! I hated it

Now that I got the lily pipes with oil skimmer the water on top of my tank is crystal clear
