weird bug in the filter

I was changing the filter sponge I noticed something moved I cheked more carefully and saw this small creature trying to go deeper in the sponge
It is like a small crustacean or krill definitely an arthropod of about 2-4 mm long but it was living( with others of the same species) inside the aquatech filter tank( no light there)
I took one and put it in the tank the swim fastbut giant danios are faster and ate it in second
( no photos,,, too small)
can you help to identify this

Not without pics.

At least they will ass a tasty treat for the danios.

first guess is some sort of copepod

they are usually in the darker areas of tanks... especiall away from fishies that will snack on them

Yes It looks like copepods and as you said this part of the tank are the darkest because is inside the filter tank
I have this tank (my first one) for the past 6 month and never saw them . I haven introduced plants or fishes in the last 3 month
how do they got there. Are the vectors for any disease? or just part of the food chain( fish will be glad if they come into light

)
The only thing I introduced a month ago +- was a log . I got it from a near river but I passed first a solution of clorine then an autoclave( 120 C and 20 atm which kill anything) and then to the tank

They're small and are capable of floating and crawling around.

The can arrive through just about any reason. plants, food. other fish..

not really known to carry disease that im aware of
