Water Pump For Water Changer
Hi Plantedtank Members
I'm looking for a submersible water pump that will work with my Aqueon Aquarium Water Changer.

I've heard good things about Wayne water transfer pumps, but I have a Magdrive 9.5, I can drain 50 gallons in a few minutes!!

Any $30 pond water pump should do. I use a separate (cheap) power switch strip, don't forget a GFC outlet, in addition to attaching a valve from faucet water changer to control flow into 5 gal bucket.
I only have 10 & 15gal, if you have >50gal, you might want to consider tapping a drain line. |

I use a Marineland Maxi-Jet 1200 on my 50 footer. It works great. The output tubes fits the hose perfectly and I just wrap a zip tie around it to keep it tight. $23 shipped - best way I've found to power the Aqueon. I go the full 50 feet to the sink, too. A++ would recommend!

+1 for Marineland. Great, cheap pumps. I've found their actual head to be much more strong than advertised, as well.
