Riverbrewers 75G "Roselines and A New Beginning"

I have been diligently working over the past year to put together all of the components necessary to transition from my current 40G breeder over to a bigger, better, new, and improved 75G that will house my planted tank obsession. 🌱🐟

I think I have my driftwood placement ironed out, but am looking for opinions on what I have done with my layout so far.

Note: the footprint of my tank (18" x 48") is indicated by the lines drawn onto the canvas in my previous photos. The canvas I was using as a template is actually much bigger (24" x 60") than the tank. So if you think the driftwood scape is too small for the footprint of the tank, remember that I am referencing within the marker lines on the canvas, and not the entire canvas as a whole.

A 75g should be plenty big for a few Roselines, no?

Excellent hardscape. I see far to many rushed set-ups lately, you sir are taking the right steps to a pleasing design of rock and wood.

All of your stones are roughly the same size, you might like the look of a few larger ones thrown into the mix if you have access to some,

however I'm sure you are trying to leave plenty of space for your inhabitants to swim about!

I really like your driftwood arrangement. The rocks work very well too, but I cannot help wondering if a few more piled higher or over a larger area might be even better.

It depends on what kind of planting you have in mind, personal taste, and experimentation. What a great start!

The only thing that is set in stone so far is the driftwood placement.

I have access to a ton of different sized rocks and will be working on the rock placement tonight.

This will be great for roselines. Can't see to well how far the branches come to the side of the tanks but leave a few inches between the limbs and the glass so they have room to fly around they will love chasing each other around it.

Do you have plans for a current in this? Or filtration yet?

And do you have the roselines already in another tank? My local pet'smarts have then 50% off until Nov. 25 so they are only $4.99. Might be a reason to get some more to expand your family!

You should get some clay for the bottom of this tank Are you keeping with the Crypt theme I assume? The hardscape is stellar so far. I cant wait to see this come together! Got an estimated plant list yet?

Great start! Will you be leaving the other end of the tank bare or filled with plants?

Definitely will have lots of crypts. So get that clay to me NOW!! Hahaha!!!!

I already have 8 Roselines ready to transplant once the tank is good and consistent w/ all readings. I will be using an Eheim 2217 and Odyssea 500 filter on it. Definitely CO2 injection. Not 100% on a plant list yet. Plants will definitely be on the opposite side of the tank as well. Heck, plants will be everywhere!!! Hahaha!!! Here's what I have in store for my Saturday night!

Making tons of progress tonight.
Pulled the substrate from my old tank and mixed it w/ some new stuff. Kicked up the root feeding a notch w/ plenty of super secret clay mixture, some of hydrophyte's grosoil tabs, and my own hand-made substrate capsules as well.

I have the driftwood where I want it and am also pretty confident with the rockscape too. Marching on to the plants next. It is going to be a long (but fun and exciting of course) night!

Not too shabby, I will second the idea of having a variety of sizes of rock, even a variety of different thickness of branches. Have you explored tilting the branch on the very right side even further?
