The Tale of the Traveling Cray
So the past weekend I was laying in bed and I hear what sounds like little clicking of something taping the floor. It eventually stopped so I went about reading on the forums. A little later I get up and go to the fish room, and when I come back I go to the other side of the bedroom. To my surprise one of my marbled crays had gotten out his tank and traveled to my bedroom. Mind you the tank is about 6 feet off the ground at the top. Unfortunately she could not be saved she looked like she tried to come back but eventually died. Heed my tale of the wandering cray.

Did you just dump her back in the tank? I know that when they dry out, their gills don't work very well, so a lot of the times they will drown when returned to deep water.

yeah, should that ever happen again, don't put them straight back in the deep end. Best to do is put them in a shallow dish with water just barely covering the cray, with a spot for them to crawl out of the water if it's too much for them.
Sorry about your loss though

Well I have a better top on the tank now so hopefully it won't.
