Showing Off Some of my Newly Acquired Orange Neos
I've decide to show off some of my new oranges. I love the way they look and I got some fat mommas with the shipment I got and have tonnage of babies swimming around now (got them last week).
Note: Shrimps acquired from reefdive. Honestly one of the best deals on shrimp I've made thus far. I can probably split the them into three strains. Some look like fire oranges, pastel oranges, and sakura oranges. Pictures of beautiful females, babies, and reverse trio. Enjoy! |

Nice Shrimp. I have the same shrimp from reef dive. There is color variation but I understand the females are more colorful than the males which is normal.

Very nice. I have some orange neos as well that are breeding pretty rapidly. I am trying to select some of the best ones and create a small breeding project. I do not have any clear females like you do so I wonder if mine are from a different line. Mine were sold to me under the name "Orange Sakura Shrimp" and came directly from Asia.
These are really nice too. We should exchange stock somewhere down the line to add diversity. |

Update... this is crazy, but I (Jimko) finally have a reliable breeding stock. Not sure why it took so long to get these guys going.
Anyone else have this experience with orange neos? It took 6 months to break these shrimp in. There were times I thought my colony would crash because of the lack of breeding (about to throw in the towel). My local water parameters has been pretty good for raising shrimp so...

Obsessed? Maybe
|
Could have just been a reproductive dry spell.
My Cherry tank seems to breed the most when there's a major atmospheric pressure shift. Even if temps and other params are stable.

My oranges and yellows randomly breed and go on dry spells for weeks to months. the reds thankfully didnt get the memo on that one.
