minimum shrimp size for breeding group

I am curious now that i am trying to expand into breeding new shrimp and realizing how costly some are ... so is there a minimum suggested size? Also does mixing in two groups make it less likely to have them breed? Finally i have this one almost two inch red cherry shrimp and i was told i should try breeding her specifically. Do i set up a one on one situation or are they kinky and should put her in a tank with a few males?
