I can't seem to find a suitable sized tank online, so I'm going to give the whole DIY thing a try and see if I can put together my own tank. I plan to make an 11" cube, but I am unsure what thickness of glass to use.
The calculators I found online (www.theaquatools.com/building-your-aquariumand http://www.fnzas.org.nz/?page_id=1635) make it seem like 1/8" glass would be plenty thick, however all of the DIY aquarium guides I've found don't mention any glass under 1/4" thick. Does anyone know if 1/8" glass would be safe for an 11" cube? Metric Conversions: 1/8" = ~3mm 1/4" = ~6mm 11" = ~28mm |
