Well, finally got power back in Chinatown. Anyone know how the Chinatown lfs are doing?

All stores were closed today (except a few with generators, but only restaurants/whole foods) when I saw them. Maybe they'll be open tomorrow since the power is back? I hope some fish survived! The corner store had the gate raises a little and it was missing the usual display of young oscars. I hope they're just in a different tank...

Anyone know if Fish Town in NJ and the one in Queens both have the same owners and/or suppliers? Asking because I read about the leeches some people got from the one in NJ. So wondering if it's safe to buy fish from the one in Queens.

Not sure if they have the same owner but I buy fish from the Fishtown in Queens all the time. No leeches, ever.

I do not believe they are the same owners, they probably have the same name.
The queens store is quite clean and has a lot of specials. Also, if you google fish town USA, it comes up only with the Northern Blvd NY store. There is no mention of the NJ store anywhere on the top result and they are not intermixed, so from that, you can gather they are separate entities.

They used to be owned by the same owner. Originally there were six scattered around the tri-state area...but things weren't doing great so now there are two left. They are not owned by the same owner anymore.

I don't think they were leeches...probably plan aria, but I still cant be sure. When we went to the NJ one, they had a lot more choices in everything.

The northern blvd one is very clean..but carry the same things over and over again. I don't even buy plants there because they carry the common stuff like amazon swords, combomba, etc.

I can't speak for pacific and fishtown USA, but coral aquarium has been opened since Wednesday and is currently operating normally when I went to buy some frozen food and supplies.

Petsmart is doing fine and just got new shipments today I think. SO many pretty bettas!

I would be aware of buying frozen food from stores that were closed due to no power ....

Has anybody seen Deep Blue tanks being sold in Manhattan? I am looking for one of their 3 gallon long tanks.

the long tanks are 2.3 gallons. petland discount sells them for around $35 i think
