How to build a quick disconect

Count me among the first group- I have spilled large amounts, and it has happened more than once. Usually it is 'user error', but occasionally it is due to a part failing.

You can't get them at HD or Lowes but there is such a thing as a ball valve with integrated union. I have a couple kicking around, saw them cheap ($3 for 3/4") and since I'm the sort of guy who glues everything and uses loads of unions...
